The BLAST Rising Asia circuit encountered a minor hiccup during the open qualifier registration process, which was swiftly addressed and resolved by BLAST. The issue arose when some teams, including Oceanic and Mongolian squads, found themselves unable to complete their registration due to platform restrictions.
BLAST partnered with GGTV to organize the Asian qualifier, utilizing the well-known Chinese platform 5EPlay for registrations. Teams were required to create an account, add their team members, and submit their application through the tournament page on 5EPlay. However, a crucial limitation became apparent—5EPlay mandates a phone number linked to Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Macao, effectively blocking many non-Chinese teams from finalizing their entry.
The issue was first highlighted on X by dupr1ce, who pointed out the restriction preventing some teams from confirming their participation. Upon being alerted, BLAST quickly intervened and assured teams facing registration difficulties that they would receive assistance. The tournament organizers issued a statement confirming that affected participants could seek help through the BLAST Rising Asia Discord server.
For teams still encountering issues, BLAST encourages them to join the BLAST Rising Asia Discord server, where staff members are available to provide support and ensure a smooth registration process.
